Maintaining kidney health is important to your overall health and general well-being. By keeping your kidneys healthy, your body will filter and expel waste properly and produce hormones to help your body function properly. To help you take care of your kidney and prostate health, The Medical City (TMC) Clark launches its Kidney Stone and Prostate Center (KSPC) that offers a wide array of services manned by highly-trained doctors and medical staff. The KSPC is well-equipped for special diagnostic and curative procedures.
Uroflowmetry
The KSPC has a uroflowmetry system that can help differentiate lower urinary tract symptoms and other voiding dysfunction conditions, thus helping the doctor arrive at the proper diagnosis and treatment.
Uroflowmetry tracks how fast urine flows, how much flows out, and how long it takes. This diagnostic test is useful in evaluating the function of the urinary tract. Your doctor may suggest uroflowmetry if you have trouble urinating or have a slow stream.
ESWL
The Extracorporeal Shockwave Lithotripsy or ESWL is a minimally invasive treatment for stones. It utilizes sound waves to break stones into fragments so patients can get rid of them non-surgically, with the advantage of an outpatient treatment with quick recovery time for Patients.
Diagnostic and Therapeutic Procedures
The center is capable of image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Bladder and kidney scans, prostate biopsy, cyst aspiration and urinary diversion (cystostomy and nephrostomy) are just some of these.
