Evolving Standards in Liver, Pancreas, & Biliary Tract Disease Management Shared by TMCC Multidisciplinary Team
The Medical City-Clark (TMC-Clark) Liver and Pancreas Center, held its 1st Post-Graduate Course in Liver and Pancreatic Disease Management last July 26, 2018 at Filinvest Mimosa, Hilltop Golf Course (within Quest Hotel Compound), Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga in partnership with the Philippine College of Surgeons and Philippine Society of General Surgeons Central Luzon Chapter.
This year’s theme, “Evolving Standards in Multidisciplinary Team Management of Liver, Pancreas, & Biliary Tract Disease.”, aimed to provide an up-to-date information on the current options, practices and guidelines in better care management of Liver, Pancreas and Biliary Tract Diseases in a multidisciplinary approach.
Members of the multidisciplinary team have been chosen to be the resource speakers to make the event more informative and enlightening. The team is composed of Hepato-pancreato Surgeon, Interventional Radiologist, Medical Oncologist, and Gastroenterologist.
The event served to update the audience on the ideal healthcare management such as the Tips and Tricks in Surgical Management of Pancreatic Cancer, Surgical Management of Liver Metastases, Liver Cancer in NAFLD: Current Knowledge and Implications for Clinical Practice, Liver Resection for Primary Liver Cancers, Surgical Management of Pancreatitis: When to and How?, The Spectrum of Disease from Acute to Chronic Pancreatitis, Interventional and Vascular Radiology in Hepatobiliary Disease, and Updates in Systemic Treatment for Liver and Pancreas Cancer.
The Philippine Medical Association (PMA) awarded 30 Continuing Medical Education (CME) units for the participating medical practitioners specifically doctors of Internal Medicine, Family Medicine and General Surgeons.
An open forum was administered by a moderator to foster collaboration and engagement from the audience.
In conclusion, the event was also the formal launch of The Medical City Clark Liver and Pancreas Center. Now, it is beyond ready to serve the people of Central Luzon.
