Early Childhood Congress Opens For Registration

The Medical City Clark- Ambulatory Surgical Center’s Developmental Pediatrics Clinic in partnership with The Medical City Clark Department of Pediatrics will hold a congress dubbed “Early Childhood Congress: A First Milestone” aimed at giving parents, pediatrics, and teachers an overview on the impact and importance of the first three years of life.

This is the first-ever and biggest early childhood congress to be done in Central Luzon and North of Manila. An average of 400 participants are expected to attend the said event.

 The one-day event will be held on August 19, 2017 (9am to 4pm) at the Peter G. Nepomuceno Auditorium, Holy Angel University in Angeles City, Pampanga.

The resource speakers for this event include Pediatricians from the field of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, Neurodevelopmental Pediatrics and Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition. They are Dr. Lourdes Bernadette SumpaicoTanchanco, Dr. Kaye Napalinga, Dr. Florita Yambao-Dela Cruz, and Dr. Almida Ambatali-Reodica.

The congress advocates for appreciation of early childhood development and its importance through understanding of the developing brain (The Basics of Brain Development), the importance of feeding and the child’s diet on development (The Role of Nutrition on Child Development), how development unfolds, red flags that point to problems in development, early identification and intervention for developmental concerns (Milestones and Red Flags: A Deeper Look at Developmental Surveillance and Screening) and tips on optimizing a child’s development (Strategies for Enhancing Your Child’s Development).

Each participant will receive exclusive handouts and exciting souvenir items at the end of the congress. The Philippine Medical Association will also be awarding thirty (30) Continuing Medical Education units to the participating medical practitioners.

After each session, participants will be given the chance to ask questions or seek clarifications during the Open Forum part of the congress.
